Match Overview:

FC Barcelona head into this matchup against Italian Serie A giants AC Milan with the hopes of ending their tour of the United States of America on the best note possible for both the morale of the squad as well as that of the players themselves.

Thus far, Barcelona have already taken on two different opponents on American soil. Their very first match against English Premier League side Arsenal resulted in a 5-3 defeat for La Blaugrana, although the defeat could be justified to an extent as Barcelona had only just played their very first friendly in America whereas Arsenal had already gotten ample amount of time to adjust and refine their match fitness.

The Catalan club then went on to face El Clasico rivals Real Madrid in what was arguably the most hotly anticipated clash of the tour in its entirety. From weeks of buildup to the game suggesting it will not be taken as a ‘friendly’, the chaotic game that took place did not disappoint.

Walking away as 3-0 victors, Barcelona head into this final matchup against AC Milan with their heads held high and their high morales at an advantage. On the other end, AC Milan themselves have taken part in 2 friendlies already in the United States, but have failed to win either of the games.

Their first match against Real Madrid resulted in a 3-2 defeat for the red and black side of Milan, as they suffered a complete comeback from a Real Madrid side that was already 2-0 down by the 42nd minute.

The next match AC Milan took part in was against fellow Italian outfit and rivals of AC Milan, Juventus. The enticing game ended in a draw, with a score of 2-2, and then went on to penalties where the Old Lady would eventually come out victorious.

Now, AC Milan prepare themselves to take on FC Barcelona in what will be the final game of the tour for both the Spanish outfit and the Italian club. It remains to be seen who gets out on top, but the game itself is shaping up to be a great encounter between two of Europe’s greatest sides.
