The mood at FC Barcelona is not the most cheerful after their painful defeat to Real Madrid at the Montjuic last Saturday. The loss itself was demoralizing enough, but the comments of some of the players critical of the team after the defeat have further deteriorated the spirits at the club.

However, despite this loss, Barcelona will have to keep going and keep preparing for the upcoming matches. As it happens, their next match is another tough fixture, as the Catalans will play against Real Sociedad away from home.

Midfield duo working to regain fitness

Despite the defeat and the lost points, Xavi still has something to be happy about, as two of his important players, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, were able to recover and play some minutes in the match against Real Madrid.

Kounde was also a part of the squad for the Real Madrid game, but the midfielders, Pedri and Frenkie de Jong were unable to recover in time for El Clasico.

Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that these two midfielders are continuing with their recovery processes and are trying their best to be available for the match against Real Sociedad.

It will become clearer in the next few days whether the duo can play in this match or will have to wait longer to get back into action.

Trio still working to regain full fitness

As things stand, Pedri is closer to a full recovery among the two and can receive a medical discharge in the coming days. Frenkie de Jong is also having good sensations about his fitness, but his injury was more significant, and the club will have to be more careful about his situation.

While Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Kounde were available for the Real Madrid match, they still trained at the Esportiva Joan Gamper to regain the best physical shape.

For now, Sergi Roberto is the only player who has no chance of getting back into the team for the upcoming match, and he also trained at the club’s facilities today to continue with his recovery.
