The factory of talents of FC Barcelona, La Masia, continues to supply young prodigies in abundance. As the club is making a return to its roots, it is no surprise to see the Catalan giants attempt to shape their future with the inclusion of young starlets.

Over the years, there has been an incredible resurgence of the academy, with young names making a mark for themselves. Gavi and Balde are two recent star boys with an abnormal upward trajectory.

According to Santi Ovalle, the upcoming pre-season will be utilized to award youngsters with the playtime they deserve. The report also states that the performances of these players will dictate a potential upgrade to the senior team, depending on the signings the Catalans execute as well.

Lamine Yamal, Aleix Garrido, Marc Casadó, Estanis Pedrola, and Chadi Riad are all expected to be part of pre-season action with the first team.

This period of the season is particularly beneficial for unearthing young talents. Yamal and Garrido towards the end of last season tasted a glimpse of first-team action and, thus, will be acclimatized to the dynamics.

Yamal’s development at such a tender age makes him an innate asset out wide. The winger impressed in the U-17 Euros as well for Spain. Considering the increased likelihood of Ferran and Fati’s exits, Yamal could be a practical option.

Similarly, Estanis’ strengths on the flanks make him an incredible threat. The winger is explosive and possesses a solid eye for goal.

Garrido and Marc Casado will compete with Barça’s stacked midfield department. While there will be ample competition on offer, La Masia has especially thrived on producing talented midfielders.

Lastly, Chadi Riad is one of the defensive powerhouses of the Barcelona subsidiary. With a shortage of young center-backs to come out from the academy, Riad will certainly have a point to prove as well.
