FC Barcelona have endured long and hard this season already when it comes to injuries. Boasting quite an extraordinary list of injured stars, the road to El Clasico felt quite dire in terms of unavailable players. However, if the latest reports are to be believed, Barcelona could be packing a surprising punch.

It is true that Barcelona currently have several key players sidelined. Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, Spaniards Pedri and Sergi Roberto, Dutchman Frenkie De Jong, Frenchman Jules Kounde and Brazilian winger Raphinha are all currently in recovery.

Yet, in light of the latest update, many of them may just recover in time to play Real Madrid.

Key players return to training

According to a recent update from Mundo Deportivo, five of the injured players are currently training with the group. While Raphinha is already expected to return against Madrid, the other four could be a very dynamic introduction to the squad list.

Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Pedri, and Frenkie De Jong are all currently training with the group. Earlier reports suggested that the sensations regarding them are positive and progression is smooth. Furthermore, the report claims that all four now have a chance to feature in El Clasico.

Potentially massive boost for Barcelona

It was previously reported that Xavi would look into this training session very carefully. The players who manage to complete the session without any setbacks will be the ones who could make the final squad list for Barcelona. It now seems that all four key players could end up featuring if things go well.

For Real Madrid, this would be a dangerous sign given the amount of quality these players have. Moreover, it would be a significant boost for a Barcelona side that has managed to persist despite the absentees.

With El Clasico not too far away, it is expected that Xavi will delay the squad announcement until tomorrow. This would allow him to have as much time as possible to recover most if not all of his currently sidelined players.
