Five players still unregistered by FC Barcelona due to varying reasons – report

Barcelona players ahead of Jhon Gamper trophy match

The most evident of priorities remains still unsolved at FC Barcelona and the Catalan club hopes to resolve any pending transfer-related issue before the end of August in order to ensure the most competitive squad possible is at the disposal of Xavi Hernandez.

One such key priority objective that remains to be figured out is the pending registrations of several players. While Barcelona have officially managed to register almost the entirety of the squad within the records of La Liga, there remain five players still yet to be registered.

According to information provided by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have registered all players in the squad bar five specific cases due to different reasons that could dictate how long it takes for the Catalan giants to have those players registered.

Among those five players are Spanish defender Marcos Alonso and Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Pena, both of whom are seen more as rotation players rather than as necessities for the plans of Xavi Hernandez. Hence, a delay in their registration does not exactly harm Barcelona.

Another case is that of new defensive arrival Inigo Martinez, who continues to carry on with a different pace of training and recovery than his teammates due to an injury that he still has not fully healed from following his surgery. Barcelona can afford to keep the 32-year-old waiting for his registration a bit longer.

Lastly, the cases of both French defender Clement Lenglet and American fullback Sergino Dest also remain unresolved as they stay unregistered still. Considering that Barcelona are looking to offload both players within the next 13 days, registering them is not a particular objective for the Catalan club.
