For the upcoming summer transfer window, FC Barcelona have clearly marked a midfield pivot, a winger, and a fullback as the reinforcements they want to bring to the team. But some of the departures from the Catalan club can also force them to look for their replacements in the market.
This is particularly the case for the striker Vitor Roque, whom Flick can retain in his squad, but whose departure on a loan is also not entirely not ruled out.
If the latter is the case this summer, Flick is clear that he would not go into the next season with only Lewandowski as the team’s striker, and would need someone who can replace him when he is not available.
In this regard, Mundo Deportivo has mentioned some names that can be of interest to Barcelona. Marc Guiu, who has already played and scored in La Liga and UEFA Champions League, has convinced the Catalans with his progress so far, and thus can be an option to play this role next season.
Similarly, Pau Victor, whom the club intends to keep permanently by executing the purchase option on his contract, can also be Lewandowski’s deputy.
Ansu Fati, who spent the last season on loan in England with Brighton and Hove Albion, is returning to Barcelona this summer, and can be another option for Flick, especially as he already has played well as a second striker in his career.
In addition to these already available names, Flick can also look at some players in La Liga who will not require a lot of time to adapt to the competition.
From this category, one of the players who has been linked with Barcelona is the Getafe striker, Borja Mayoral, who was the top Spanish scorer in the league along with Alvaro Morata, both having scored 15 goals.
However, he had a contract till 2027 with the Madrid club, and Barcelona might have to pay his €25 million release clause to get him.
Another former Getafe forward, Mason Greenwood, whose agents have already offered him to Barcelona, has also proven his credentials in La Liga. While the Catalans will take this option only in the extreme, Greenwood can also be an option for this role.
But before Flick decides on any of these names, the future of Vitor Roque first needs to be determined, and if he stays, he will be the one to deputize for Robert Lewandowski Lewandowski next season.
