FC Barcelona, despite their obvious resilience in recent times, continues to face problems. La Blaugrana are met with more and more hurdles as things seem to be getting better. The latest of such hurdles comes in the form of an injury.

In the latest round of international games, Spain took on Georgia in a European qualifier. While the Spaniards took away the victory, they managed to lose something far more valuable. Gavi, Golden Boy, and Kopa Trophy winner, was left crying in pain as he was brought off during the game due to a possible ACL injury.

While Spain will not need to count on him until the Euros next year, Barcelona certainly did need him. Now, for the remainder of the season, Gavi’s possible absence will have to be replaced from within the academy.

SPORT has thus highlighted a few special names that could find themselves in the first team. While Xavi does have first-team members to play in the starting eleven, the additional slot for a new midfielder in the squad will likely need to be filled.

Marc Casado (20 years)

The most experienced player within the subsidiary’s assortment of midfielders, Marc Casado is a special player indeed. He is a mainstay within Barcelona Atletic. His versatility, maturity, and footballing IQ are quite appreciated by Xavi Hernandez and could take him further with the first team.

Aleix Garrido (19 years)

Aged just 19, Aleix Garrido is also seen as a great talent within the subsidiary. Xavi Hernandez has complimented the youngster’s quality himself as well. He has even been recognized as one of the unique players within the subsidiary alongside Lamine Yamal.

Marc Bernal (16 years)

Despite only being 16, Marc Bernal stands out for many reasons. Physically strong with a height of 1.90 meters, he also has a great understanding of the game and knows how to improvise within matches. He is considered the latest of the subsidiary revelations and is also participating in the Under-17 FIFA World Cup.

Unai Hernandez (18 years)

Unlike the other names on the list thus far, Unai Hernandez is much more attack-minded. With a great tally of goals already under his belt, the attacking midfielder brings a certain firepower with him. If Xavi needs to add goals from the midfield, the former Girona youngster could be his answer.

Noah Darvich (17 years)

Arguably the biggest wildcard on this list, Noah Darvich is also a unique talent. Regarded as being one of the most promising talents in the European continent, he was formerly exploding with German side Freiburg. While his time in Barcelona has improved gradually, he has once again returned to his best with Germany in the Under-17 World Cup.
