With the form he has been showing since the start of this season, the FC Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has been attracting plaudits from several quarters.

The Polish veteran has already scored 12 goals in 11 games for the Blaugranes, and even at 36 years of age, is once again proving himself to be one of the best strikers in Europe.

The latest individual to highlight the Pole’s brilliance is the former Barcelona and Real Sociedad striker, Meho Kodro. As SPORT has reported, the former Bosnia-Herzegovina coach had no doubts about the quality of Robert Lewandowski as he talked to the Polish edition of Goal.

The former striker claimed that: “Lewandowski is definitely still among the top 4 or 5 forwards in the world”, and went on to highlight his excellent performances at such an advanced age:

“Which is a fantastic result. Especially considering his age, although I’ve already said that I’m not worried about his age. In my opinion, we are seeing the best version of Lewandowski in 2 or 3 years.”

The Bosnian also highlighted the “various factors” that have allowed the Pole to keep shining at the highest level:

“Robert has always had quality, there’s nothing to discuss there. However, he also looks very well-prepared physically. He’s very dynamic, and with every goal, he regains confidence and grows. Additionally, he’s surrounded by players in great form, like Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, who can play well with him.”

Given Lewandowski’s excellent form so far, Kodro even predicted how many goals the Polish striker will finish with by the end of the La Liga season:

And overall, Barcelona as a whole is playing very well. It’s clear that Lewandowski feels very comfortable as the leader of the attack. If he keeps this up, he could easily score 30 goals this season in La Liga.”

Kodro also highlighted the improvements in Barcelona’s play and expressed his belief that the league race between the two Clasico rivals will be extremely tight this season.

“Except for the two setbacks against Osasuna and AS Monaco, Barcelona is playing very well. There is dynamism in this team, there’s balance, self-confidence, and a clear sense of how they want to play. This team has more character than last season’s team.”

“Of course, this is Real Madrid, they have the best players in the world. Everyone knows that Madrid will also fight for the title, and everything points to it being decided between these two teams. In other words, a classic rivalry. However, I think this time the championship battle may last a long time, and in my opinion, the point difference between these teams won’t be large until the end.”

There is no doubt that Barcelona have been the team to watch in La Liga this season. But as Kodro highlighted, Real Madrid can still put up a challenge for the title with the quality they have in their squad. But with players like Robert Lewandowski leading the team’s attack, Barcelona fans will have a lot to look forward to this season.
