Treachery and scandals are not alien to FC Barcelona in the world of football and transfers. The infamous case of Portuguese legend Luis Figo will eternally be remembered, and many cases have since emerged. However, even a former Barcelona player is expected to show some respect to the badge.

That is why, coming into the clash against PSG, there were some uncertainties about a former Barcelona star. Ousmane Dembele, once the golden child of Xavi Hernandez and his most prized possession in attack, met up with his former coach and team in Paris, and did something that will likely boil the blood of many.

As highlighted by SPORT, once Dembele managed to get on the scoresheet, instead of showing respect or some level of humility because of his former club, he decided to celebrate with great joy against Barcelona. The mere coldness of his reaction towards the sentiments of his former team was telling.

Understandably, scoring for whatever team you play in an important moment can make someone ecstatic. In terms of Dembele’s goal, both the quality and timing were essential to PSG. By faking his way through a crowd of Barcelona shirts around him, he managed to rifle a powerful shot to the top of the net.

Right afterwards, he ran to the fans of the Parisian club and celebrated with his arms open. Already a tainted figure within the opinions of the fans of Barcelona, he certainly did not do himself any favors by acting like this when he could have chosen a different way to go about things.

Even when his teammate Vitinha scored the second goal for PSG, Dembele was quick to join in the celebrations. Moreover, he even motioned the PSG supporters to increase the tempo of their support as the French club gained the upper hand on Barcelona.

However, this was Paris, and these people were behind him. His next visit is to Barcelona, a club where he spent some very crucial years of his career, and the people at the Montjuic Stadium will likely not be too forgiving. It will be interesting to see just what kind of reception the French winger ends up receiving there.
