As Xavi Hernandez is going to leave FC Barcelona at the end of this season, one of the main tasks for the Catalans in the ensuing months will be to find a suitable replacement for the departing head coach.

A high number of tacticians have shown their interest in managing the Catalan club despite its economic problems, and several names have been associated with the club for this role. As things stand Hansi Flick is being linked to Barcelona more closely than other possible candidates.

Now, according to SPORT, there has been another high-profile addition to this list of coaches interested in taking over Barcelona, as the Italian manager Antonio Conte has offered his services to the club. While the Blaugranes do not have him on a high-priority list for now, things can change going into the future.

Antonio Conte has one of the best CVs in top-level managers, and he has vast experience of managing top clubs across Europe. He has won the Serie A with Juventus and Inter Milan, and the Premier League with Chelsea, but is yet to get his hands on the Champions League. He has also coached the Italian national team for two years.

Tottenham was the last club that Conte managed, but it has been almost a year since he left the Premier League side. The coach left the London club with a mutual agreement in March last year.

The profile that Conte offers is in line with the requirements of the Catalan club, but Barcelona have not taken any steps in this regard.

As things stand, Laporta is trying to get one of the top German coaches to replace Xavi, and the club’s dream is to tie up Jurgen Klopp. However, getting the German will be very complicated, and Deco will keep on monitoring high-level coaches for some time now.
