FC Barcelona is a club devoted to retaining players who continue to show their best on the field and even showcase their devotion when they are not in front of the cameras and the spotlight. Players that show their best and remain consistent even in training, typically get to best display their integrity to the club.
For now, as reported by Spanish outlet SPORT, four FC Barcelona players in particular were spotted training at the Barcelona Sports City on Wednesday. Despite it being a day off for the players, these four individuals came to train for their own development.
23-year-old Spanish forward Ferran Torres was present among the four in question. Previously having been reported to regularly partake in additional training sessions even on day offs, the Spaniard has slowly but gradually started to showcase exactly why Barcelona initially brought him in.
Since the first pre-season outing against Arsenal all the way up to the same recent encounter against Villarreal in La Liga, Ferran Torres has managed to score 5 goals across 6 appearances thus far.
Another player who joined the extra training session was Dutchman Frenkie De Jong, with the 26-year-old thus far enjoying a great season with Barcelona. The midfielder even scored the second goal for the Catalan giants in their recent 4-3 win over Villarreal.
The other two players to partake in the training session were Inigo Martinez and Inaki Pena, both of whom remain unregistered with La Liga for now. The former Athletic Bilbao defender has just recently recovered from an injury while Barcelona consider both him and Inaki Pena as players they can wait out to register until their finances are sorted.
Up next for FC Barcelona is a game against CA Osasuna at the El Sadar stadium on Sunday, in what is expected to be a clash against one of the toughest Spanish teams in the First Division at the moment. It will have to be seen whether the unregistered players end up being accounted for by the time of the game or if they will continue to wait beyond it.
