FC Barcelona continues to place emphasis on the development of their young stars and future prodigies in the making. The ongoing addition of said youngsters within the dynamics of the first team are concrete evidence of this.
As they did with the likes of Ez Abde, Gavi, Ilias Akhomach, and many others, the fruits of such confidence in said youngsters have proved to be applaudable.
Most recently, 15-year-old Lamine Yamal was also integrated within the training sessions of the first team and consequently broke several records as he soon after made his debut against Real Betis in La Liga Santander while continuing to flourish with the Spanish National Team at the U-17 European Championship.
Barcelona are hoping to continue this surge of talented youngsters coming through their ranks and getting firsthand experience within the highest level of football. The most recent of reports by Mundo Deportivo have pointed out the addition of youngsters Dani Rodriguez, Unai Hernandez, Hector Fort, and Pau Prim within the recent first-team training session.
Dani Rodriguez is mainly an offensive player on the frontline, Unai Hernandez on the other hand operates as an interior and central midfielder, Pau Prim operates as a defensive midfielder and Hector Fort is primarily deployed as a right-back.
The defensive midfield position and right back position in particular are ones that the first team currently remains vulnerable in due to a lack of depth in those specific roles.
It remains to be seen if Xavi Hernandez chooses to field any of these youngsters in the final game of La Liga against Celta Vigo, as it is a game that doesn’t necessarily hold any importance in terms of league standings and it could be a good opportunity for Xavi Hernandez to test out the young stars in development against strong, first division opposition.
