For any aspiring player to end up at FC Barcelona, they have to exhibit something truly special. Talent, commitment, experience, and a lot of other factors have to come together to even make the move a possibility. The special few in the world manage to impress Barcelona like this, but even they are a rarity.

However, there is one player who is currently contracted to Paris Saint-Germain but is greatly admired by FC Barcelona. The player in question is 21-year-old former La Masia prodigy and current loanee at RB Leipzig, Xavi Simons. While he is an exceptional talent, one might wonder why exactly Barça are so enticed by the possibility of signing him.

According to Mundo Deportivo, they may have the answer to that query. As per the latest information provided by Roger Torello, the primary reason behind his signing being looked at so positively is the fact that he is liked by both the technical staff at Barcelona as well as the sports management themselves.

The 21-year-old Dutch midfielder is acknowledged for being a very versatile player who can essentially play anywhere across the midfield positions. For Barcelona, this versatility is something they need their players to have, especially their midfielders.

Able to score on a consistent basis, while also having the necessary technical abilities to act as a tempo-controlling asset in the heart of the pitch makes Xavi Simons an attractive option for Barça.

Another reason why Barcelona greatly appreciates the chance to sign him is because of a lack of adaptation problems. Having already been a product of Barça’s youth program, as well as having many good friends within the club from his time in the academy, Barcelona believe he would fit in seamlessly if he were to return.

Finally, and arguably the most important reason in terms of feasibility, is the fact that Simons’s arrival would not be a massive burden on Barça’s financial Fairplay. The club would be able to incorporate the player as a loan arrival, as that is the kind of operation both the club and player wish to work upon.

For now, a lot depends on how the Dutchman manages to convince PSG. Recent reports claim that the Parisian club will not look to be a hurdle in his way to Barcelona, but nothing can be left to chance, especially given the fragile nature of verbal commitments in the summer market.
