The Ballon d’Or ceremony took place last night, and one of Barcelona youngsters, Lamine Yamal, had a memorable night as he won the Kopa Trophy. Aitana Bonmati also won the Ballon d’Or Féminin.

However, the biggest prize, the Ballon d’Or was awarded to the Manchester City midfielder, Rodri, and this has certainly generated some controversy as the Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior was looking to be the favorite to win this award previously.

In fact, the Brazilian was so certain that he would win, that he even reportedly bragged about it in front of Gavi in the last El Clasico when the two players engaged in a scuffle and an argument.

However, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Barcelona midfielder was not too concerned about Vinicius not winning the expected award last night.

He shared an image on social media that had nothing to do with the Ballon d’Or, as it showed seven La Masia players on the pitch during the team’s visit to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The seven players included Inaki Pena, Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Marc Casado, Alejandro Balde, Dani Olmo, and Gavi himself. The image was accompanied by the text: “The boys from #MadeInLaMasia shine in #ElClásico!”

Thus, Gavi does not seem to be too much concerned with the things happening in Paris, Real Madrid, or with Vinicius Junior, a player with whom he shared one of the most heated moments of the last El Clasico.

It is good to see that the midfielder is focused entirely on his teammates and his football, and this is quite important at this point in time as he has only made his return to the pitch, and needs to continue doing the work to get back to his best level and help Barcelona in their pursuit of a trophy in the weeks and months to come.
