It seems that FC Barcelona will need to find ways to generate some much-needed finances this summer. Despite already having signed a certain Dani Olmo, the club remains stuck in financial turmoil. To overcome this problem, Barcelona will need to find some alternative solutions.
One of the ways that Barça had hoped to be able to get some much needed funds through was a certain contract negotiation with sports brand Nike. Having been a long-term sponsor of Barcelona, the club believed that a new deal should be penned down that rewards them
according to their brand’s standing.
Previously, many reports emerged stating that an agreement had been reached between all parties over various clauses that was previously not there. Unfortunately, there has been no development since and it appears that no deal has been signed as of yet.
However, according to Gerard Romero (h/t Barca Buzz), the journalist apparently has information that leads him to believe and report that an agreement will be signed before the end of the transfer window:
“I have information that the Nike deal agreement will be completed before the end of the window. We have been able to see some documents, we know that they are already being reviewed.”
As for what this would imply in terms of Barça’s ongoing summer transfer window, very little is known or guaranteed. However, at the very least, there will be an assurance that the club has finally gotten access to the spoils of a contract that could be record-breaking.
Until that happens, however, any information or update must be taken with a grain of salt. Only the official announcement from either FC Barcelona or Nike will ultimately be the final word that guarantees that an agreement has been reached between all concerned parties.
