In the last few years, a lot of exciting talents have emerged at the FC Barcelona academy. The very best of these talents, like Gavi, Yamal, and Cubarsi, have become important parts of the first team, some others are still waiting for their opportunities to play under Flick, while some have gone on to join other clubs across Europe.
There are several highly promising players in the second category, i.e., those waiting for their chances to play and impress with the first team, and some of them, like the Fernandez cousins, have also been called up to train and play under Flick in recent months.
Meanwhile, there are also some players in the Barcelona academy who were previously touted to become some of the best in the world, but who have seen their growth somewhat stagnate recently.
Two such players are Aleix Garrido and Noah Darvich. The former has been struggling with injuries, as he suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal of the left foot and had to undergo two surgeries to recover from his issue.
The last time he played with Barcelona Atletic was last June, in the semi-finals of the promotion play-off against Ibiza. His current contract ends at the end of this season.
Similarly, Noah Darvich, who arrived at FC Barcelona in 2023 with a lot of expectations, is also not getting a lot of minutes in Barcelona Atletic, although he is fit and available. This season, he has participated in only five games and started only one of these.
However, this situation of these two youngsters at the Barcelona youth team does not mean they are not valued elsewhere. This is clear from a report from SPORT, which claims that Jurgen Klopp, who has recently been appointed as the Global Sports Director of Red Bull group, is now keeping his eyes on these two players.
The former Liverpool coach is looking to give the two Red Bull teams, RB Leipzig in Germany or RB Salzburg in Austria, a strong boost after his appointment, and the two Barcelona pearls are the prime candidates in his sight, especially as the future is not looking too bright for them at the Catalan club at this point in time.
