FC Barcelona suffered another setback in La Liga last night, falling to a 2-1 defeat against Las Palmas. The loss marked the Catalans’ first home defeat of the season and was especially disheartening, as it came on the eve of the club’s 125th-anniversary celebrations.

With this loss, the Blaugranes have lost 8 points in the last 3 games. This run started with a loss to Real Sociedad before the start of the November international break and continued with a draw against Celta Vigo.

After this draw against Celta, which felt more like a defeat given that they were leading 2-0 with just ten minutes remaining, the team capitulated, allowing the hosts to claw back and secure a draw. Hansi Flick was visibly furious with his players, expressing his frustration both in the post-match press conference and in the dressing room.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, this was not the case after the loss against Las Palmas, as the German coach did not really reprimand his players, but told them to remain united amid this difficult run of matches.

Despite the recent results, the Barcelona trainer is quite happy with the atmosphere in his dressing room, and he does not want these negative results to affect the group that has been very united and supportive of one another up to now.

Flick believes that the drop in physical level that has been experienced by the team can be recovered, but the atmosphere, once it turns bad, will be very difficult to recover. This was quite apparent last season, when the team came under a lot of stress as Gundogan complained about his teammates following the defeat to Real Madrid.

This time, it was Raphinha who voiced his frustration after the game. However, Hansi Flick is keen for his team to maintain unity and focus, especially with a challenging run of fixtures on the horizon, including clashes against Mallorca, Real Betis, and Borussia Dortmund.
