Despite entering some major exits this summer, FC Barcelona still remains stacked with talent. La Blaugrana have always prided themselves on the quality that they possess, and it manages to shine even now. After all, it is thanks to that quality that Barcelona was able to overcome Athletic Club last night.

A lot of the credit for that goes to the team’s forwards. These attackers who represented Barça in the recent game gave it their all to both score for the team and also help to defend as a unit. As more and more time passes, it also becomes clear that some forwards may be valued above others in the team.

However, one player whose future has not exactly been guaranteed as of yet is Ansu Fati. Once the prodigal son of the club whose meteoric rise was compared to that of Lionel Messi, a title that now seems to belong to another promising youngster, he is now a player whose record with injuries has greatly stalled his development.

Yet, as per SPORT, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick continues to wait for the young Spaniard and hopes to be able to count on him it seems: “I hope he returns at the same level he showed in preseason; we need to look after him.

Furthermore, he has also complimented the 21-year-old for his offensive versatility and remarked about him simply being unlucky with his latest injury:

He plays as a left winger but can also play as a number 9. The coaching staff is working with him. He’s been unlucky with the injury, and we have to be patient.

Previously, the new Barcelona coach even commended the young forward for his displays during the preseason training sessions and how Flick continues to have patience with him given that he has faith in his abilities:

He put in some excellent training sessions, was getting in shape, and showed it on the field. We need to help him come back stronger. It’s a shame not to have him available. I expect a lot from him.

It remains to be seen when the player eventually ends up making his return, but it is already taken for granted that he will have to fight for his place. The likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, Pau Victor, and even Dani Olmo will be obstacles he will have to overcome in order to find a place for himself in Flick’s team.
