There is always room for competition at FC Barcelona and only the most competitive players can overcome it. Unfortunately, such a task is not made for everyone and most players succumb to the pressure that is linked to it. Under Hansi Flick’s orders so far at Barcelona, there has definitely been a need for competition.

Given the fact that the coach always has high demands and the intensity in both training and matches is at a whole new level, players need good alternative options available at all times. Just recently, the fact that there was no player who could replicate the injured Lamine Yamal’s influence on this team ended up costing Barça against Real Sociedad.

However, one forward who continues to be left out of Flick’s plans for much of this season just so happens to be 22-year-old Pau Victor. His involvement has been minimal so far despite having had a great start to the preseason ahead of the official campaign, and this may have led to a possible departure at some point if the player felt undervalued.

The reality of things, however, is much different from that. As highlighted by SPORT, the Spanish forward wants to stay at the club beyond January of 2025 and wants to succeed there. Similarly, Hansi Flick himself wants the player to stay and is more than happy with the way he has carried himself so far.

He continues to remain consistent in his commitment to the club and does what he is asked to do by the coach without hesitation. While the unfortunate reality for Victor has been that the supernatural form of the likes of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski has reduced his overall playing time significantly, the player remains determined to succeed.

Moreover, the player believes that he will end up getting more opportunities as the season progresses. After all, it is a long campaign still up ahead and one that will require Flick to test out the limits of his squad depth, something that should offer Pau Victor a great opening to take advantage of.

As for a potential departure in January, the player who most likely could end up leaving the club may be Ansu Fati after all. The player’s inconsistent form and inability to find his best version again seems to be weighing down heavily on him, and he may need more consistent minutes to even have a proper shot at reclaiming his best self.
