FC Barcelona have just recently thrashed Rayo Vallecano at home in La Liga. With this win, the Catalan giants retain their place at the top of the league table and currently maintain that lead thanks to their superior goal difference.

However, La Blaugrana are not yet done reinforcing this impressive squad even further to give Hansi Flick even more options to rely on. Their latest arrival just so happens to be a striker from Arsenal, and he will certainly give the team more options.

Gabriel Jesus, who is now in Barcelona to complete his move, was also present during the match against Rayo Vallecano. Following the game, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo, Hansi Flick even asked about the player once he was told that he was present in the stadium as well.

The Barça coach briefly explained his view of the player and what he could bring to the team:

“He is a top striker. He will be important. He can give us a lot of things, and I’m happy that he is here.”

That is certainly good to hear and hints that Flick might have some plans in mind on how to deploy the Brazilian forward and get the most out of him. Moreover, given the low cost of the whole operation, it was not a financially risky transfer for La Blaugrana either.

Unfortunately, he does come with a rather problematic injury record and Barça will need to be careful with that. It is an issue that the Catalan giants will not want becoming a recurring problem for them to deal with.

Still, it does not hurt to have a unique profile in the team who could help in ways that other players cannot. It remains to be seen just how impactful he can be for Barcelona this season, but there is hope that he could prove to be a valuable asset.
