So far this season, Hansi Flick’s FC Barcelona have looked like one of the strongest teams across Europe. From their goalscoring ability to their extreme intensity, La Blaugrana have looked like a completely new team under the German coach. Fortunately for Barcelona, almost all of their players are also responding well to the new tactics.

One of the most prominent instructions and tactics that Hansi Flick has drilled into this team, however, is their extremely effective offside trap. Both Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi, the regular starters at centre-back for the German coach, have already seemed to have perfected this particular tactic and are putting it to great use.

However, it is expected that Barcelona captain and Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo will soon to be returning as well. Upon his return, it will become a big dilemma for Hansi Flick when it comes to deciding which players will start for his team and which defenders will sit on the bench.

To make sure he comes prepared and does not fall behind, however, Araujo is already engaging in some special training methods with the Barcelona coach. As highlighted by SPORT, Flick is already making the South American defender participate in specific video analysis sessions.

The aim of these particular sessions is to help the player understand and familiarize himself with the offside tactics that the team deploys. While they undoubtedly have been the most effective users of this technique in Europe so far this season, it is essential that every player in this Barcelona team is capable of executing it properly.

Reportedly, Araujo has been studying these videos and these tactics for quite some time now. Previously, rumors even suggested that Flick was also working on helping the Barcelona captain improve his ball-playing abilities as well, which is something that any player in this team must be exceptional at regardless of their position.

However, the 25-year-old Barcelona defender will have to wait just a little bit longer before he can take part in the on-field training sessions that make use of practical drills to reinforce the lessons of this offside trap. Once he is able to take part in those, his adaptation will go much smoother and happen much faster.
