Although it has been a few weeks, the appointment of Hansi Flick as the head coach of FC Barcelona is already looking to be a good decision on the club’s part. The German has once again made the Blaugranes the team to be feared in Spain, and their prospects for this season certainly look bright with the form they have shown up to now.

Flick deserves all the credit for this upturn in the team’s form. However, there is a lot of work also done by his assistants behind the scenes that is integral to the team’s results since the start of the season.

The German tactician arrived at Barcelona with three trusted men as his assistants, Marcus Sorg, Toni Tapalovic, and Heiko Westermann. He later also incorporated Thiago Alcantara into his staff, but the Spaniard had to leave the team to return to England for tax purposes and can return to help Flick early in 2025.

Meanwhile, SPORT reports that the Barcelona head coach has added two more members to his coaching staff.

One of these is Stephan Nopp, the 45-year-old analyst. Previously, he worked with the German national team that won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and was a part of Joachim Low’s coaching staff, which also included Hansi Flick.

Low had a lot of confidence in Nopp’s ability to study his team’s opponents, and the same is the case with Flick now, who values him a lot for his adeptness in interpreting opponents’ data. In Barcelona, he will act as the bridge between the club’s analytical team and Hansi Flick.

The second addition to Flick’s staff is 26-year-old coach Michael Hasemann, who is still in training. Flick has taken him under his wing, and Hasemann specializes in analyzing opponents’ data.

Hopefully, these two additions will further enhance the quality of the team going forward, and get even more favorable results in the months to come.
