The upcoming game between Villarreal and FC Barcelona will be one that could offer a chance of redemption. With the rather unfortunate loss to Monaco still fresh in everyone’s mind, a clash back in La Liga offers a new opportunity. However, Barcelona should learn from their mistakes and not underestimate their opponent.

While the Champions League puts the best that Europe has to offer against one another, La Liga will look to do the same with the best Spanish teams out there. Almost too fittingly, Barça’s next opponent is a team that is currently flying in terms of not having suffered a single loss in La Liga so far.

Despite having already faced even the likes of Atletico Madrid, Villarreal have not yet tasted defeat in the Spanish first division. Hansi Flick’s side, still with a perfect record in the Spanish league, will be hoping to be the first team that can break Villarreal’s spirit at La Ceramica.

However, there are some issues for Hansi Flick to address as well. According to Mundo Deportivo, the German coach has no room for any rotations or changes going up against Villarreal and that is because of a culmination of injury-related issues, suspensions, and overall squad depth.

He will be looking to line up with the exact same eleven as the Monaco game, as per the report, and that includes lining Eric Garcia up as the pivot alongside Marc Casado. With an unfortunate sending-off against Monaco, mainly due to Ter Stegen’s initial error, this could be his chance at redeeming himself.

Apart from Garcia remaining in the lineup, the other players will likely remain where they are as well. Ferran Torres is already suspended, and other options are still either too young or too freshly recovered from injury to make their way into the starting eleven just yet.

So far this season, the likes of Ter Stegen, Raphinha, Jules Kounde, and Inigo Martinez have played every single minute of football under Hansi Flick. Others such as Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, and Robert Lewandowski have also started every game thus far, but they have been substituted to get some additional rest from time to time.
