Despite the departure of some of its most important players, FC Barcelona are having a very good start to the 2024-25 season. The Catalans have won the first three matches in La Liga, and are currently the sole leaders of the league, with a four-point margin over their most likely rivals for the league trophy, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
However, there are still some weaknesses that Flick will be looking to eliminate in the weeks to come. For instance, the team has not kept a clean sheet in the three matches up to now. Furthermore, they have also conceded all of their goals in the first half of the match.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, Flick also recognised the team’s slow start to games as he spoke to the press ahead of the match against Real Valladolid. The German tactician asked his players to play at their best level from the very start of a match, while also praising the quality of the team:
“It’s very important that the team is really into the game from the start. We can’t wait 10 minutes. Then we have a lot of confidence in the second half. We’re at 100% and that’s what I want for this team. It’s necessary, it’s the basis of our idea. The quality that the team has is fantastic.”
It is good to know that Flick has already diagnosed this weakness in the team, and hopefully, he will be able to eliminate it in the coming weeks and months.
With the start that they have had, Barcelona can very well go on to win the La Liga title this season, which will be a significant achievement for Flick and the team keeping in view the difficult economic and financial conditions being faced by the Catalan club.
