With FC Barcelona still having to complete some of their most important dealings, the summer transfer window deadline day was always going to be a highly exciting affair for Cules. News are constantly coming out of the club, as the club races to finish its business before the deadline ends.
Two of the operations that the Catalans still had to complete today were the incoming transfers of the Portuguese duo of Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix. According to recent updates on these operations, both are almost in their final stages.
Barcelona reach verbal agreement with Atletico Madrid
One of these operations has received a major update as the journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have reached a verbal agreement for the transfer of Joao Felix. Barcelona are now only waiting to sign the documents, and the move will be sealed then.
It was previously reported here that Jao Felix, along with Cancelo, have already arrived in Barcelona ahead of their move to Barcelona. In fact, both players have also reached Cuitat Esportiva for their medicals, and Felix’s move seems to be only a matter of minutes now.
No purchase option available for Barcelona
Romano has provided some further details on the transfer. Felix will join the Catalan giants on a loan, but no buy option will be included in this deal.
Thus, if the Blaugranes are satisfied with Felix’s performances, they will have to negotiate for a full transfer with Atletico once his loan period ends, especially since the player has already extended his contract with Atletico Madrid till 2028 today.
