Injuries are a type of problem for Barcelona that have proven to be quite hard to regulate and control. While there are ways to limit the chances of injuries, there is never any guarantee once a game or training session kicks off. Unfortunately for Barcelona, this issue has persisted within their squad since quite a while.

While they have managed to turn things around with some players, other cases have started to pop up spontaneously. Pedri’s case, for instance, has seen the player become much more immune to injuries this season compared to his previous campaigns thanks to the special focus that the club has given towards his fitness.

Unfortunately, not every injury is all about preparation and precautions. Such was the case for Gavi’s injury last year, which was a spontaneous ACL tear that kept him sidelined from both club and international football for almost a year before his recent return for Barcelona under Hansi Flick.

Yet, it would now appear that a great development has taken place and the positive update has been provided by the Barcelona coach himself. As highlighted by SPORT, Flick has now confirmed that the young La Masia midfielder is finally ready to start games again after his recent cameos:

“Yes, he’s ready to start.”

Furthermore, he spoke about Gavi’s enthusiasm and how the €90 million-rated midfield star is willing to give everything no matter how he is deployed on the pitch:

“He tells me, ‘I can play anywhere.’ In every role, he gives it his all.”

With the 20-year-old midfielder now fully back, he could prove to be a great asset to the team. Able to play just about anywhere in the midfield, he also has a unique ability to play as a false winger up front if the coach needs him to, as showcased by him under the mentorship of Xavi Hernandez.

Previously, it was already being reported that he would finally be able to start following the international break, and Hansi Flick’s own words now confirm that report. Yet, given the injuries that the club is still having to deal with, the full return of the young player could not have come at a better time.
