Not every player at FC Barcelona will end up getting the same kind of opportunities. Given how competitive the Catalan club’s squad can be, it makes sense for some players to seek more minutes elsewhere. However, not every transfer or loan move away from Barcelona always works out in the player’s favor.

Despite that risk, some players simply have to go with the flow when it comes to finding opportunities to show their worth. At Barcelona, that is not always possible given the kind of expectations that are kept from the club and how success is simply an obligation for any Barça coach, making it difficult to rotate too often.

As such, some players decided to try their luck away on loan this season, and not every single one of those Barcelona loanees is getting to have the same kind of impact as the other. Thus, SPORT has highlighted how each of the four current Barcelona loanees are doing at their respective clubs.

Vitor Roque (aged 19):

In terms of playing time, Vitor Roque has been fortunate enough to have the trust of Manuel Pellegrini this season. At Real Betis, the Brazilian forward has been getting consistent opportunities but his finishing has not always paid off for him despite the promise that he continues to show. Even Pellegrini himself commented on his efficiency and stated that he would like to work on it.

Clement Lenglet (aged 29):

After a rather long wait, Clement Lenglet finally got to make his debut for Atletico Madrid against Real Sociedad. Following the intense 1-1 draw in which he played 90 minutes, it may be safe to assume that the Frenchman will be getting a lot more opportunities moving forward given his solid display as well as the fact that Robin Le Normand is also sidelined now.

Alex Valle (aged 20):

Currently on loan at Scottish club Celtic, Alex Valle’s chances with the team have not been too regular. Instead, he is having to compete with Greg Taylor for opportunities and he does not seem to be the favorite to win that duel anytime soon. That was made clear enough when Brendan Rodgers, the current head coach of Celtic, continuously deployed Taylor ahead of Valle this season. So far, the Barcelona loanee has only accumulated 241 minutes in this campaign.

Oriol Romeu (aged 33):

A return to Girona on loan seemed to be the best possible move for both Barcelona and Oriol Romeu, especially with Michel still in charge of the other Catalan team. Having played some of his best football under him, it seemed like Romeu would be able to rekindle his best form under his old mentor. However, despite some promising early signs in both La Liga and the Champions League, Romeu succumbed to an untimely hamstring injury that will now see him miss some crucial fixtures.
