Good news is always a welcome arrival within the hallways of FC Barcelona these days it seems. The Catalan giants continue to struggle on the field and in matters where they have barely any control. Even the latest encounter against Athletic Club saw Barcelona lose some key players to injury.

While Frenkie De Jong, one of the two injured stars, looks set to be out for a month due to a sprained ankle, his midfield partner’s fate looked much more grim. Pedri, the second of the two casualties, suffered what looked to be a hamstring injury and one that was possibly a relapse of his previously recurring injury.

Had that been the reality of his injury, which most suspected it to be, Barcelona could have possibly even taken dire measures. However, it now appears that Barça have managed to escape that fate. According to Mundo Deportivo, there may just be a reason to hope.

Unlike initial suspicions, Pedri’s latest injury is not a relapse of his previous injury. Moreover, it has directly impacted a muscle group that the team’s medical staff refers to as a “good area”. They state this due to its ease of healing and the lower chances of a potential relapse at some later stage.

Moreover, it is described as not being a big tear either so it should not cause too many complications. As for a return date, Barcelona are hopeful that they can look forward to Pedri making his return for the team in late April against none other than Real Madrid for the La Liga El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu.

This will undoubtedly come as great news for FC Barcelona, who were quite worried about their young Golden Boy. However, this does not mean that the Catalan giants should be casually deploying the Spaniard once he returns. Care is necessary with Pedri, and it is absolutely vital to ensure his long-term health over short-term availability.
