The medical team at FC Barcelona continues to work towards recovering some of their most important players. Unfortunately, many key players are currently sidelined and need some time to recover before Hansi Flick can count on them. However, while Barcelona has managed to do well so far, any additional help would be welcome.
Many important players such as Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong, Andreas Christensen, and others continue to recover at their speed. Unfortunately, that means that some players may not end up returning for quite some time and Barcelona will have to continue having to make do without them.
Fortunately for Hansi Flick, however, some players are recovering quite well and continue to get closer and closer to their eventual return. One such player is Gavi, Barça’s most recent Golden Boy winner, whose recovery ever since his ACL injury last year has been progressing quite well.
Now, as per the latest update from Mundo Deportivo, Gavi is reportedly set to take a massive step in his recovery that could be regarded as one of the final ones before his expected return. The report states that Hansi Flick is now waiting for Gavi to join a part of the team’s group training sooner rather than later.
It is expected that the player could take part in such a group training session in the coming days. However, this does not mean that simply because of that training session the player would be medically cleared shortly afterwards. In reality, it is an essential step that is simply being taken to make sure that the player gradually adapts to a team setting again.
The plan remains to see the player make his return in October if everything goes to plan and his recovery continues to be accelerated. Ideally, however, Barcelona will want to be cautious with their valuable young midfielder and will likely help him make a gradual return in November instead.
For Hansi Flick, Gavi’s return would mean something much more than just the addition of another technically gifted midfielder. It would provide him a player with heart and character, something that is synonymous with the teams of Hansi Flick, and Gavi’s tenacity would fit right in without any issues.
