Barcelona and France National team winger Ousmane Dembele had started off this season for the Catalans in top form. The player had been instrumental under Xavi Hernandez’s tutelage and was vital in most of everything that Barcelona did well. His unfortunate injury against Girona however put an unwanted halt to a lot of positives in the Catalan team’s plays.

In his absence, Brazilian winger Raphinha stepped up and has been an absolute nightmare for opposing teams since then. The player brought in from Leeds United for a fee of around €60 million was recruited for exactly such a scenario and has not disappointed.

Recent reports from Mundo Deportivo and behind-the-scenes footage released by FC Barcelona have revealed Ousmane Dembele continuing his recovery both indoors and outdoors as well, as it seems to be going better than originally expected. The player continues to show his dedication to the club by training and continuing his recovery work even on days off.

His current injury in the hamstring of his left thigh has resulted in the winger consequently having missed a total of 11 games thus far since having been sidelined. However, the player is adamant on being available for the Blaugrana as soon as possible again, and while it remains a bit unlikely, a potential return by the time Barcelona welcome Real Madrid to the Spotify Camp Nou for the El Clasico fixture in the Copa Del Ray does not seem that impossible anymore.

The second leg is scheduled to take place on the 5th of April 2023, and now it remains to be seen just how well the Frenchman’s recovery continues. The hope would now be to see if both him and Dutchman Frenkie De Jong are able to recover from their respective injuries in time to be available for deployment against Real Madrid.
