Already battling with injuries, it seems that the woes of FC Barcelona are set to only get worse and worse. In the latest news incoming from Spanish sources, it appears that FC Barcelona have lost yet another one of their most integral superstars to an injury.
According to the latest update provided by Carrusel Deportivo, 19-year-old Golden Boy winner Pablo Gavi was injured just recently while being present with the Spanish National team during their training session. Thus far, the type, extent, or severity of the injury is unknown but the coming hours are sure to reveal more.
With this loss, Barcelona are now extremely short-handed going further into the season with important matches on the horizon. As it stands, the likes of Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie De Jong, and Jules Kounde are all injured.
The cases of Raphinha and Pedri were specifically of note to La Blaugrana and Xavi, who want to prevent any further muscular overloads that occur without any physical impact. Gavi’s injury will be revealed in depth soon and it will be interesting to see if it is yet another example of some spontaneous muscular issue.
For now, the Barcelona midfield has already lost the services of Pedri, Frenkie De Jong, and now Gavi. Despite the fact that Pedri is expected to be given the medical green light after the international break, this is still a pressing matter that is plaguing Barcelona and their progress.
Xavi will now have a huge task at hand if it turns out that Gavi’s injury may prevent him from playing for the Blaugranes temporarily. The Catalan coach has the services of Ilkay Gundogan, Fermin Lopez, and Oriol Romeu to count on for the time being as well as the subsidiary talents to turn towards if things become too dire.
