Inter Milan a likely destination for out-of-favor Barcelona midfielder -report

Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie

Franck Kessie has been somewhat of an anomaly for FC Barcelona this season. Despite the Ivorian’s own attempts to find a place in Xavi’s starting eleven, it just seems as if his profile does not fit within the philosophy of what the manager wants within his squad.

Playing second fiddle to any midfielder that either gets injured, suspended, or simply needs rest, this role as a fringe player is something neither Kessie nor his entourage had in mind when he initially joined FC Barcelona.

Now, according to reports, the player sees Inter Milan as a likely destination to play his trade with. As per La Gazzetta Sportiva, the player might have already made contacts with previous acquaintances such as Turkey and current Inter player Hakan Calhanoglu to make sense and find reason as to if Inter could be a sportingly progressive project for the Ivorian midfielder.

The Serie A club already inquired regarding Kessie during the previous winter window and FC Barcelona seemed inclined to want to involve Croatia’s Marcelo Brozovic in any potential suggestion. The move ultimately fell through but since these reports continue to emerge, the Italian league might just end up attracting Franck Kessie once more.

Despite the suggestions by FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez that Kessie remains an integral part of his plans for the season, the player and his entourage clearly do not feel the same way. This saga may just be an interesting scenario ahead to keep an eye out for.
