In order to mitigate their financial conditions and conform to the feasibility plan prepared by the club, FC Barcelona will have to make a number of sales of their players in the upcoming transfer window. One of the players that can be used by the club to generate funds is the midfielder, Franck Kessie.
Having joined Barcelona in the last summer window, Kessie has had a mixed season at the club. While the player has not been able to lock down a starting position in the midfield, he still was able to make some appearances in some important matches because of injuries to other established players in the squad.
However, in the matches that he made an appearance, Kessie has not been able to show the consistency that would have brought him more opportunities in the already highly-stacked midfield.
As a result, the club is open to the idea of letting Kessie leave in this summer window if a suitable offer arrives for him. His sale is also attractive for the club as he came for free, and all the proceeds from his sale would be a profit for the club.
According to the latest reports from Gerard Romero, Inter Milan are interested in the midfielder and could make a move for him in the transfer window. The Italian side has long been associated with the player, and there have been reports of a swap deal being considered by both clubs.
Inter’s interest in the midfielder is understandable, as Kessie has experience of the league. He was one of the key players in the Milan team that won the Scudetto last season, and the player has had a number of good seasons in Italy.
Thus, while there is nothing concrete yet, Kessie’s first season at Barcelona could also be his last, as Inter Milan and other teams from Europe remain interested in the midfielder for the upcoming season.
