FC Barcelona managed a strong and dominant victory over Real Valladolid in La Liga. With Hansi Flick now in charge, the Catalan club arguably gave one of their best performances in recent memory. A 7-0 thrashing over their opponents helps Barcelona maintain their perfect streak so far in Spain as they head into the international break.

However, perhaps the most telling sign of any otherworldly performance is how it is judged by the fans. After all, the football field is simply a coliseum that is surrounded by fans who are hungry and eager to see their fighters prevail over the other opponents.

Fortunately for the home fans at the Montjuic Stadium, that is exactly what Barcelona ended up doing. La Blaugrana prevailed in astounding fashion and much of the credit for this one-sided game has gone to new coach Hansi Flick and rightfully so. Ultimately, the fans themselves showed their appreciation towards the team’s new head coach.

As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the German tactician ended up receiving his first-ever standing ovation from the Barcelona supporters after the game as they audibly chanted his name across the stadium. The Montjuic Stadium was in awe of Barça’s performances, and they let Flick know that they considered him the driving force behind it.

Following the game, during his press conference, the former Bayern Munich coach was even asked about the reception and how he felt that fans of Barcelona were calling him the best signing of the summer transfer window:

“It makes me feel proud that they say I am the best signing, but we are in the fourth matchday and this can change. I am happy that the fans are happy, but we have to continue. There is a long road.”

It remains to be seen what else Hansi Flick can manage to achieve with this team, but there are some great signs already. After the international break, Barça will once again return to action against Girona midway through September. Until then, fans of the team can rest assured with a perfect four out of four victories thus far.
