Dani Olmo was the only big signing that FC Barcelona made in the last summer transfer window. The Spaniard joined the Catalan club from RB Leipzig for €55 million fixed and another potential €7 million in variables.

The forward has not needed a lot of time to show his magic to the Cules. He scored his first goal in Barcelona colors right in his debut against Rayo Vallecano, and then scored another goal in the 7-0 drubbing of Real Valladolid.

One of Olmo’s colleagues both in the Barcelona and the Spanish national team, Pedri, recently appeared in an interview with Mundo Deportivo and talked about his good relationship with Olmo.

The Barcelona midfielder shared that he was not too surprised with the quality that the new signing has shown:

“Yes, we were talking about it during the summer, that he should come, and that I was eager to play with him. It’s a privilege. I think he’s had two outstanding games. I already knew the quality he had, but people hadn’t seen it as much.”

The midfielder went on to explain why developing a good chemistry with Olmo was not going to be an issue for him:

“Yes, we already knew that. We had also played together here with the national team under Luis Enrique. When we play together, we understand each other very well, and we knew that wasn’t going to be a problem.”

Pedri also named one specific quality that he loves in his €60m-rated Barcelona teammate: “He’s got so much magic, especially when he turns between the lines. I love it. It’s a pleasure to play alongside him.”

As has been clear from the last two games, Olmo has settled in at this Barcelona team right off the bat. Hopefully, he and Pedri will continue to weave their magic for the Blaugrana team for years to come.
