FC Barcelona continue to work diligently as the final hours of the summer transfer window come to a close and are continuously working to close down several operations before the window concludes.
The cases of players such as Eric Garcia, Ez Abde, Joao Felix, and Joao Cancelo still remain open to speculation and are yet to find their respective conclusions. However, there have been positive developments in the case of the latter two Portuguese stars.
According to information by Jijantes FC, 29-year-old Manchester City fullback Joao Cancelo has finally arrived in the city of Barcelona following a much-delayed travel from Portugal to Spain that was mainly stalled due to multiple concerns with Financial Fair play and receiving the necessary green light to travel as a result.
However, the player has finally touched down in Spain. His arrival is noticed an hour or two after the touchdown of his fellow countryman, Joao Felix, who arrived in Barcelona from Madrid with his agent, Jorge Mendes.
Both Joaos are now expected to have their situations sorted out as they arrive in Barcelona with their shared agent. The Manchester City fullback and the Atletico Madrid forward both arrive as loan prospects who are set to play for FC Barcelona during the 2023/2024 season.
For Cancelo, the operation was much more complicated than it has turned out to be for Joao Felix. The buy option in the original format of Cancelo’s agreement between Barca and Man City had to be removed due to La Liga and FFP considering it to be a hindrance in getting their approval.
It is now speculated to just be a matter of time before the deals are made official and the finalization of both stars is confirmed. Barcelona are set to incorporate both Portugal Internationals within the first team as their last signings of the summer transfer window.
