FC Barcelona are still waiting to sort out certain arrivals at the end of the summer transfer window, and the Catalan giants believe that there are specific transfer targets that can be managed before the conclusion of the window takes place at the beginning of September.
Among those select few that Barcelona are still reportedly after, before the conclusion of the window, two prominent targets both hail from Portugal.
The first is 29-year-old Manchester City fullback Joao Cancelo, who is simply awaiting the green light to be confirmed as a new FC Barcelona player after agreements have been reached between the Catalan giants and his current club.
Another that FC Barcelona are reportedly going to make the final push for is 23-year-old Atletico Madrid forward, Joao Felix. Out of favor at his current club and having rather deteriorated relations with his head coach, the player is desperate for a move away from the club.
Speaking on this particular topic, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano provided clarity that the Portuguese forward continues to wait for Barcelona and his stance has remained unmoved since his statement regarding his desire to join La Blaugrana:
“As I’ve been telling you all summer and as he said in the exclusive interview, Joao Felix only wants Barcelona and is still waiting.”
The update comes at an urgent time, as Barcelona only have a few days left before the end of the window and following the arrival of Cancelo as well as finalizing the departures of certain players, Barcelona could make their final offensive push of the summer in order to bring the 23-year-old to the Catalan club.
According to various reports, the Catalans are only considering a loan move for the 23-year-old and are also hoping to reach an agreement with Atletico to divide his salary’s settlement. Given the expensive nature of the operation, Barcelona will definitely need an adequate amount of funds in order to facilitate it.
