For some key players of FC Barcelona, the international break is still far from over. As the various continental competitions gradually reach their conclusion, some players are still fighting for all the glory. Especially for FC Barcelona, they have a strong batch of players still active in the European Championship.

Currently, in the semi-final stage of the competition, Spain and France will lock horns in a much-anticipated encounter. Both teams have strong representatives from Barcelona in them, with Jules Kounde representing France and the likes of Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez, and Ferran Torres all available for Spain.

However, ahead of the match, Jules Kounde was asked a few questions about some of his Barcelona teammates. As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the elephant in the room was undoubtedly Lamine Yamal, and the Barcelona winger’s progression was a straightforward question for the French defender:

“It’s impressive what he has done this season at such a young age, with all the expectations placed on him at Barcelona, one of the clubs with the most media exposure.”

Yet, for Kounde at least, Yamal is not the only danger that France will need to watch out for. While he certainly thinks his Barcelona teammate will be a danger by himself, he believes the collective unison of Spain is something that his side will need to be cautious of:

“Lamine is one of the dangers, yes, but I would say that the main strength of this team is their collective. There are very good players, we saw that against Germany, where two players who came off the bench made the difference.”

However, the Barcelona defender was also asked to comment on Pedri’s recent injury. Instead of stating that he messaged him or sent out a post, Kounde instead confirmed that he called his Barcelona teammate to check up on his current status:

“I didn’t send him any message, I called him and talked to him a bit about his condition.”

Now, all friendships will be put aside moving forward, however. Kounde will look at his Barcelona teammates as direct rivals for this upcoming encounter, and both teams involved in the first semi-final of the Euros will aim to make sure that they are the ones who reach the final.
