Franck Kessie is one of the FC Barcelona players that has high demand in the current market. Several clubs from across Europe have been linked with the midfielder in the last few months, but right now, Juventus seem to be the one most advanced in negotiations for him.
According to SPORT, the club is also working in the USA to work out the future of the Ivorian midfielder at the club. There were reports that Barcelona and Juventus would meet in the USA for Kessie’s transfer, and their latest report claims that a loan with purchase option is looking the most likely mechanism for his transfer, but an agreement on its conditions has not been arrived upon yet.
Juventus are proposing a deal which would make it mandatory for them to buy the player if they finished first or second in the league. However, Barcelona consider such a clause too uncertain and want the purchase option to become mandatory if Juventus end up in European positions.
The two clubs are getting closer in their negotiations, and an agreement can be reached soon. However, Barcelona are also keeping their options open, as other clubs can also make a more profitable approach for Kessie in the ongoing summer transfer window.
However, Juventus want to conclude the operation as soon as possible, especially with Allegri pushing his club to sign him at any cost.
The player himself is not too keen on a move away from Barcelona, though. Although Kessie has been listening to offers, he is comfortable at Barcelona and believes he will get minutes in the upcoming season.
Xavi has clearly communicated to him that minutes would be hard to come by in the coming season, but the player believes the current Barcelona project is too good to leave.
