It would appear that FC Barcelona are currently handling simultaneous tasks in order to both bring in new recruits to the club in time for the upcoming 2023/2024 season while also ensuring the departure of players no longer needed at the club.
One such player that the Catalan giants continue to work towards finding an exit for is French central defender Clement Lenglet, who remains out of favor at Barcelona and is not part of Xavi Hernandez’s plans for the upcoming season.
As the Catalans continue to look for potential clubs willing to take away the 28-year-old French defender, they have potentially found a new suitor from the regions of Italy.
According to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, Barcelona have received the word of Italian Serie A giants Juventus, who wish to enquire about the availability of Clement Lenglet and the possible requirements of an operation that could see him move to Italy.
The journalist does however clarify that there is nothing concrete here as of yet and it is simply Juventus testing out waters and choosing to enquire primarily in order to understand the extent of their own capabilities that they could in the future divert towards this particular operation.
As it stands, there are several other parties already interested in acquiring Lenglet on a permanent basis whose negotiations with Barcelona are currently quite advanced.
At the forefront remains English Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur, a side that Lenglet would be very open to joining, who continue to negotiate with Barcelona, and the primary difference between the two parties remains an agreement on the transfer fee of the operation.
Another party currently negotiating for Lenglet’s signature is Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, who are willing to meet Barcelona’s transfer fee demands as well as offer the defender a higher financial package than that of Spurs. However, the player, for now, remains adamant that he wishes to continue playing in Europe.
