With the intention of rectifying the financial state and weeding out the weak links, Barcelona are keen to offload a number of fringe players ahead of next season.
One of the names on the exit ramp is Frank Kessie, who will be sure to find complications racking up game time next season, owing to increased competition in the midfield department.
According to Mundo Deportivo, in order to strengthen the midfield, Juventus have identified Frank Kessie as their primary target. The player would be taken on loan by the Italians for a single season, with the option to buy him outright for €15 million the following summer.
In an arduous economic climate, this offer would surely help the Catalans alleviate their financial problems. Moreover, Kessie is not entirely against the idea of departing as long as a suitable destination is on the cards.
The Ivorian does not rule out departing if he were to get a deal that would benefit both the club and himself. The midfielder, however, made it obvious that he had no desire to go back to Italy since he believes that, after playing for Atalanta and Milan, that chapter has closed.
After spending several years at AC Milan, Franck Kessie departed on a free transfer last season. With ample experience already in Serie A, the 26-year-old looks forward to playing in the Premier League instead.
However, it is unlikely that Kessie’s future will be resolved before the pre-season tour in the USA commences. For now, the midfielder is tasked with appearing this Tuesday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper to pass the physical and medical exams. In the meantime, Barcelona will continue to work on an exit.
