With only a few days left in this winter transfer window, FC Barcelona are still not ruling out the possibility of offensive reinforcements for Hansi Flick.
The Catalans have been linked particularly closely to the Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford, who is highly unlikely to continue with the Premier League side as he is not trusted by the new coach Ruben Amorim.
However, getting the winger will not really be easy for the Blaugranes, for several reasons. One of the main barriers they are currently facing is the lack of the required salary margin that would allow for the Englishman’s arrival.
They will have to sell some of their current players to be able to land him but have been unable to conclude any departures up to now.
Furthermore, they will also be facing competition from other top clubs, as SPORT reports that Juventus are also fighting to get the Englishman on loan till the end of the season, as they believe he can help the team regain their form and keep them in competition for the big titles till the end of the season.
Juventus are currently standing 5th in the Italian Serie A, 16 points behind the leaders Napoli. Their form has deteriorated to such a level that there have been reports of the Old Lady looking to replace Thiago Motta with the former Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez.
Thus, the Blaugranes and the Turin club are expected to compete for Rashford’s signing, as other clubs like AC Milan have already withdrawn from the bidding, while the forward himself does not see Borussia Dortmund as an attractive option. Similarly, United are not expected to allow him to leave for a Premier League rival like Tottenham or West Ham United.
But even in this two-way fight, Barcelona have the advantage as the player wants to play in the blue and garnet jersey. The winger believes his chances of winning silverware are higher at the Catalan club, as they have a better chance of catching Real Madrid, whom they are trailing by seven points in La Liga, and they also are placed second in the UCL League Phase.
