One of the players that FC Barcelona are open to offloading in this summer transfer window is the Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie. The midfielder has received interest from multiple clubs this summer, and there is a strong likelihood that he will leave after only one season at Barcelona.
The Ivorian arrived at Barcelona last season as a free agent, but has been unable to get a fixed position in Xavi’s starting lineup. Still, he got multiple opportunities to get on the pitch in the last season as the squad had to face a number of injury issues throughout the year.
However, the midfielder does not seem to be a part of Xavi’s plans going forward, as he did not feature in the AC Milan match, and also was not on the pitch in the El Classico.
One of the sides that have shown particular interest in the midfielder is the Italian club Juventus. The Italians have been negotiating with Barcelona for a loan with an obligatory purchase option, and would pay €10-15 million at the end of this loan term.
However, Juventus still have to convince Kessie to join them, as the midfielder is not too keen to return to Italy. According to Mundo Deportivo, Juventus want to know whether Kessie will come to Turin so they can finalize their squad for the next season as soon as possible. If Kessie is not convinced, Juventus will look at other targets.
There are other clubs also interested in Kessie, one of them being the Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. Still, Juventus are confident that they will land the midfielder, and the next few days can be crucial in this regard.
Along with Juventus, Barcelona would also be hoping that this transfer operation concludes as soon as possible, so they can use the funds generated from his sales to strengthen their squad before going into the next season.
