Karim Adeyemi hints at FC Barcelona interest

Barcelona target Karim Adeyemi

FC Barcelona have a multitude of talents across Europe who they have been keeping a vigilant eye upon over the years. From the young gems of underachieving clubs to the star players of their respective trophy-laden clubs, the Catalans are constantly on the lookout for the “next big thing”.

In Germany, within the yellow and blacks of Borussia Dortmund, eternal rivals to FC Bayern Munich, plays a certain 21-year-old forward who has mingled with FC Barcelona in the past as well, with both parties interested in working together at some point. That young forward goes by the name of Karim Adeyemi.

At a point in 2022, when there seemed to be a strong chance that the player may come to Barcelona, he would end up signing with his current club Borussia Dortmund where the player and those around him believe he will have ample time and the correct resources for a young star to develop rather than be cast straight away under the pressure of the European elites such as FC Barcelona.

Now, exactly 365 days since his contract signing with Borussia Dortmund on the 11th of May 2023, the player has left a hint towards a potential personal interest in playing for FC Barcelona someday.

Under a post by the Twitter account of OptaFranz, a Munich-based team working on collecting and analyzing in-depth footballing statistics and information that highlighted Adeyemi’s incredible 64 mins per goal involvement ratio, making him the best in such a statistic across Europe, the player went on to like a comment made by a user stating that he is the “Best possible Ansu Fati replacement for Barca”.

This like is possibly a nod to the player himself agreeing and potentially still wanting to represent La Blaugrana at some later stage of his career.

As the like gains the attention of more fans, similar comments trying to dissuade such intentions of the players can be seen under the comment as well, such as one user saying “Unlike @karim_adeyemi you have to stay until 2035 minimum“.

With the departure of Ansu Fati still a possibility over the summer, it might not be a stretch to assume that the German forward may actually end up finding himself representing FC Barcelona in the future should the circumstances permit so.
