Although Hansi Flick is yet to take charge of the team and start training his new players on 10th July, things are not looking too good for Barcelona.

This is particularly the case as the Catalans are yet to receive the awaited payments that will allow them to solve their FFP issues and return to the 1:1 rule to easily make new signings.

Meanwhile, matters have somewhat worsened for the Catalans in the last few days, as two of the team’s key players, Pedri and Ronald Araujo, have suffered injuries while on duty with their national teams.

The latter of these players was the latest to be injured, as he went to the ground without any contact in the first half of the game between Uruguay and Brazil in the 2024 Copa America. Although a formal assessment of his injury is yet to be made, things are not looking good for the defender.

This state of affairs is also confirmed by the trusted journalist Javi Miguel, who claims that the Barcelona defender has very negative feelings about his injury.

Although it is not confirmed yet, everything is pointing towards an issue in the femoral biceps of the left leg. If this turns out to be the case, Araujo may have to remain on the sidelines for 6-8 weeks.

Undoubtedly, this will be a big blow for Barcelona, as Araujo, despite being linked to a move away from the club for some time now, is still an integral part of the team’s backline.

He was expected to be even more indispensable for Flick, as his pace and strength would have been needed to avoid any unwanted counters as the German plays with a very high line.

Thus, one can only hope that the issue is not a very serious one for Araujo, and that he can return to training and the pitch as soon as possible.
