Amidst rumors that a key defensive player for FC Barcelona may be on his way out due to certain complications, the Catalan club may be in for some good news. The player in question has just recently released his own side of things on his official social media account and has made it clear that any such allegations are all false.

The player being referred to is none other than Frenchman Jules Kounde, who arrived at FC Barcelona over the summer of last year following a heated contest between La Blaugrana and Premier League side Chelsea for his acquisition. Since arriving, the defender has been quite the reliable asset for Xavi Hernandez.

Taking to social media to address rumors and reports suggesting that the player has asked to “leave the club” on the basis of being deployed primarily as a right back when in actuality he is more comfortable and prefers to play in his more specialized central roles. Coming out to Twitter, the player said the following:

“To make it clear: at no time did I ask to go out, so I’m not going anywhere.”

By coming out with this information publicly, the player thus manages to put an end to any lingering suspicions and doubts about whether or not the Frenchman would be a Barcelona player next season amidst reports of interest from the English Premier League, and that the player himself had suggested or told the club that he wishes to leave and assess offers from other sides across Europe.

Having arrived from Sevilla for €55 million in the summer of 2022, the player has managed to win not just one, but two titles in his very first season as a Blaugrana, being a pivotal piece of Xavi Hernandez’s side that overcame both La Liga Santander and the Spanish Super cup, with the Frenchman having played 38 matches across all competitions in the 2022/2023 season.
