Barcelona can not seem to catch a break no matter what they try or no matter how much they wait. The Catalan giants arrived into the latest game against Barbastro with many players already sidelined. In fact, Barcelona had to make many rotations to facilitate the unavailable players.

The likes of Alejandro Balde, Joao Cancelo, Marcos Alonso, Pedri, Gavi, and Marc Andre Ter Stegen are all currently injured. However, there was one good news for Barcelona in the form of a returning Inigo Martinez. The Spaniard had previously been sidelined due to a problem with his right leg’s biceps femoris.

However, his return was merely an illusion at best. Despite managing a 3-2 victory, Barcelona left with a big frown on their face. Within mere minutes, as reported by Catalunya Radio, the Spaniard was once again on the ground. Clutching his leg and unable to continue, he was replaced by Sergi Roberto after just having come on himself.

While this was worrying in itself, the recent update from Catalunya Radio suggests the recovery will be even worse. Now, the Spaniard is expected to miss close to 4-6 weeks of action for FC Barcelona. Beyond a doubt, this is turning into a physical catastrophe within the club.

The muscular problems are becoming more and more regular without any remorse. Despite the club’s best attempts to revamp certain efforts, it seems that injuries could tarnish this season for Barça beyond repair. Martinez already came with a reputation of being injury prone, but this has become ridiculous.

However, Barcelona are fortunate enough to have some more than reliable alternatives. Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Jules Kounde, and certain promising talents from the subsidiary are all more than capable of holding their own.

On the flip side of things, Barcelona really need to sort these injury problems out. At this rate, a major chunk of the squad could end up becoming sidelined at a point. Pedri or Cancelo are now the next players that will likely return, and Barcelona will be hoping no relapses or issues occur with their respective returns.
