Dani Olmo is one of the main targets for FC Barcelona in this summer transfer window. The Catalans are looking to sign him, and Nico Williams, to reinforce their attack for the next season.
As things stand, the Blaugranes are reportedly closer to landing Olmo than they are to getting Nico Williams. However, they are also facing some difficulties in their pursuit of the RB Leipzig forward, as they have already seen their first offer for him getting rejected by the Germans.
The footballer himself is still on holiday and is expected to rejoin the Leipzig camp on August 8th. However, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, he is heading to Germany, and, accompanied by his agent, will be looking forward to getting his future resolved in the coming days.
His agent is going to fly to Leipzig to advance the negotiations between the German club and Barcelona. Olmo’s agents are working as the link between the two clubs, and will now work on the second proposal that the Catalans have presented for the Spanish forward.
This second proposal will take a significant toll on the Blaugrana club’s finances, as it promises €47 million fixed, €3 million in easily achievable variables, and another €10 million in bonuses if Barcelona wins La Liga or the UEFA Champions League in the next six years.
How Barcelona are going to pay this sum is another point of difference between the two clubs. In this second proposal, the Catalans have offered to pay close to €25 million in September.
The German club has not yet responded to this second offer from Barcelona, but is expected to discuss it in the coming few days. The RB Leipzig officials have only just returned from their tour of the USA, and have now agreed to talk with Olmo’s agents to decide on his future.
The player has already informed the Bundesliga side of his desire to leave for Barcelona this summer. The Germans respect his choice, but do not want to let him leave for below his market price.
