Ronald Koeman spoke about the improvements in the team, the role of reinforcements, Frenkie de Jong’s importance, the exit of Sergino Dest, and his relationship with President Laporta in his recent interview with Andy Van Der Meijde.

Koeman on Barca’s improvement:

When asked to comment on Xavi Hernandez’s managerial capabilities, the dutchman was very appreciative of his work. “The club is doing very well, I watched the match against Madrid and they were exceptional.”

Koeman on the importance of reinforcements:

He also added that the numerous signings eased the process of squad development, and he subliminally commented that the “quality” of the squad also is a key factor, which was a major missing factor during his time at the club.

Koeman on Frenkie de Jong:

“Frenkie should stay, He is great and he is getting his deserved minutes.” these were the words that Koeman used to comment on Frenkie. The dutch midfielders had undeniable importance in his system, where he put his best performances ever in Blaugrana colors.

After that period, this current stretch of games has been his best shift to date. Although his necessity is not easy to detect for amateur viewers, The midfielders have been dictating the tempo of the gameplay. This is one of the most crucial facets of Barcelona’s game, who also believe in La Pausa, the art of knowing when to pass and when to not, which the midfielder certainly has.

Koeman on Sergino Dest:

The ex-gaffer said that Serginho Dest’s move to AC Milan was very surprising to him. “He is not worse than Roberto, He is young and his move was not expected.” He added, mentioning that it was not long before when he arrived at Camp Nou itself and some time would have eased his integration in the team according to the dutchman.

Koeman on his relationship with Laporta:

The dutchman confirmed that his relationship with the current president Joan Laporta is not the best, which he has remarked in his previous interviews as well.
