It is beyond comprehension to imagine Barcelona losing too many key players this summer. The Catalan club is hardly in a position to have everything go their way as well, however. Barcelona needs to generate revenue and salary space, and it is a tall hurdle to overcome.

Not every player in the squad necessarily takes up a significant portion of the salary space. However, some players do end up studying moves away from the club for individual purposes as well, such as finding more game time. One has to look no further than the recent departure of Barcelona youth striker Marc Guiu to confirm that.

Now, as per SPORT, the latest information states that another Barcelona Atletic star is being eyed by another side. Alaves, another side in La Liga, are hoping to be able to borrow the services of the Barcelona youth fullback, who is only aged 17 at the moment.

By being able to loan Hector Fort, Alaves hopes for it to be a win-win situation. They would be able to guarantee the player first-team football while also being able to cover both of their fullback spots at once. Due to Fort’s ability to play on both the left and right flanks, Alaves seem to greatly appreciate his versatility.

However, Barcelona and Hector Fort will not rush to such a decision. The first order of business would be to test the youngster under the guidance of new Barcelona coach Hansi Flick during the pre-season, as this would allow the coach to see just how important the youngster can be to his squad.

Following that testing period during the pre-season, however, things could end up changing. In case Fort realizes that Barcelona may not be the place where he gets too much playing time next season, especially with the return of several fullbacks from loan, he may eventually study a potential move to Alaves as well.
